Conditions We Treat

Back Pain

Your spine handles all the hard work in your body. When something shifts out of place, even ordinary tasks become a challenge. Back pain usually doesn’t come from a single incident. It grows from always sitting wrong or moving wrong, or by ignoring little warnings over time.

Chiropractic care fixes the actual issue. Adjustments are made to restore proper spinal alignment and take pressure off the areas that have been overworked. People often see big differences in how they move and feel each day after only a few sessions.

Headaches

When your neck can’t properly hold up your head, it makes it harder to move that area. This ends up putting extra stress on your muscles and nerves, causing headaches or migraines.

Chiropractic care is all about finding what causes tension by checking how well your spine moves, your posture, and your symptoms. Dr. Bergtold looks deeply into these factors to find out the best way to treat you.

We first examine how your neck moves, where restrictions might be, and your general posture. We then perform adjustments to help joints move normally again and relieve pressure on the areas causing headaches. Lots of people notice their headaches come less often after getting their cervical spines working properly again.

Herniated Disc

A disc is a circular piece of tissue between the vertebrae that provides cushioning. When the disc shifts out of place, it can compress nearby nerves and lead to pain, numbness, or weakness. It can also affect organ function if the nerve interference is significant. We conduct a full evaluation, and where standard assessment is not enough, we refer out for an MRI to get a clearer picture.

Fixing a herniated disc means easing pressure on nerves and boosting spinal flexibility. Dr. Bergtold will check your posture, how far you can move, and your nerve responses to pinpoint the problematic spot. We use spinal manipulations, decompression, and specific exercises. All of these work together to cut down nerve irritation and help heal the disc damage.

Knee Pain

Knee pain does not always start in the knee. Misalignment in the hips, pelvis, or lower spine often places uneven stress on the knee joint over time. This leads to wear, inflammation, and pain that worsens with activity.

Chiropractic care looks at the full picture of how your body is moving and where the imbalance begins. Our chiropractors examine whether the knee joint itself is moving properly, because restriction in the joint can drive pain just as much as any injury. By correcting alignment from the ground up, unnecessary strain on the knees can be reduced.

Neck Pain

Neck pain is getting more common in everyone these days. From looking down at our phones to slouching at desks, we put a ton of stress on our necks. This leads to stiffness, less mobility, and constant aches.

Chiropractic care helps fix the spinal misalignment. It works on tight neck and back muscles too. We treat it with postural correction exercises, chiropractic adjustments to correct the misalignment, and in more involved cases, cervical traction and physical therapy modalities like muscle stimulation, cold laser, heat, and massage.

Most people notice their necks move better and feel less stiff each day when they follow a structured chiropractic plan.

Sciatica

Sciatica gives you that stabbing pain going from your lower back, through your buttocks, and down your leg. This happens when the sciatic nerve is squished or irritated, often from spine problems or disc issues. You might feel a dull ache or a sharp sting. In addition, sitting around for long periods tends to make it way worse.

Chiropractic care helps ease sciatic nerve pressure by fixing the spine and surrounding structures. Patients typically see less pain with regular visits. They can slowly get back their sitting, walking, and movement abilities without pain.

Scoliosis

Scoliosis is an abnormal sideways curvature of the spine that can develop during childhood or progress gradually into adulthood. Some cases cause visible postural changes. Others lead to muscle imbalances, discomfort, and restricted movement. Early and ongoing chiropractic care can play a meaningful role in managing scoliosis.

Adjustments boost spinal mobility and ease the muscle tension around curvature. Chiropractic care won’t reverse the curve, but it keeps patients functioning well and helps them stay comfortable. Each plan is made just for the person’s needs and pain points.

Whiplash

Whiplash occurs when the head and neck are forced sharply in one direction, usually in a car accident. The damage is mostly to the muscles, joints, and alignment of the cervical spine. Patients come to our clinic with neck pain, headaches, and muscle tension that doesn’t seem to improve. We assess the misalignment caused by the impact and address it directly with chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy, and muscle stimulation.

Early treatment helps prevent the injury from becoming a long-term issue. A targeted chiropractic plan focused on restoring normal neck movement can make a significant difference in recovery.

Arm & Leg Pain

Arm and leg pain that travels, tingles, or goes numb is almost always a nerve problem. A lot of times, people come in thinking the problem is in the arm or the leg, but that is not where it starts. When pain travels down the arm into the hand, the source is usually in the neck. When it runs down the leg, the source is usually in the lower back. We call that referred pain, and it gets missed a lot because everyone treats where it hurts instead of where it comes from.

Chiropractic care traces the origin of this discomfort back to the spine. We address the soft tissue around the affected area to give the nerve the best environment to heal. Patients get specific exercises to keep progress going between visits.
