Exion for Face and Body
At Bergtold Chiropractic, Dr. James Bergtold, DC and our team offer all four Exion treatments, Exion Face, Exion Body, Exion Fractional RF and Exion Clear RF, so your plan can match your skin, your goals and your schedule.
Dr. Bergtold has cared for Naples patients for more than 25 years, and Exion joined the wellness side of the clinic alongside Emface and Emsculpt Neo so we can treat skin, muscle and function in one place. Bergtold Chiropractic welcomes patients from Naples, Bonita Springs, Estero and Marco Island at our Park Central Court clinic in Naples.
Exion Treatments We Offer in Naples
Each Exion applicator has its own job. At your consultation we decide which one, or which combination, fits your skin.
Exion Face combines RF heating with targeted ultrasound to treat the face and neck without needles. It is a comfortable, warm treatment often described as a facial with technology. It is used for dull, tired or dehydrated looking skin, fine lines and mild loss of firmness. There is no downtime, so you can book it before an event or on a lunch break. It pairs well with Emface, which works on the facial muscles underneath.
Exion Body uses the same RF and ultrasound approach on larger areas such as the abdomen, thighs, buttocks and arms. It is used to improve skin laxity after weight loss or pregnancy and to temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite. The treatment is needle-free and has no downtime. For patients who also want to build muscle and reduce fat, Exion Body is a natural partner to Emsculpt Neo.
Exion Fractional RF (RF Microneedling) is BTL's single-pass RF microneedling treatment. Very fine needles create tiny channels in the skin and deliver RF energy below the surface, which starts a strong collagen response. Exion RF microneedling is used for acne scars, enlarged pores, uneven texture, fine lines and crepey skin on the face, neck and body. Expect a few days of redness as the skin heals.
Exion Clear RF uses what BTL calls smart microablation, a fractional treatment that works on the surface layers of the skin to refresh tone and texture. It is used for rough texture, sun damage and a dull complexion. Higher energy settings are limited to lighter skin types, so your provider will choose the settings that are safe for your skin.
What Is Exion?
The Science of RF, Targeted Ultrasound and RF Microneedling
Exion is a multi-applicator device made by BTL, the company behind Emsculpt Neo, Emsella and Emface. Instead of one handpiece for one problem, Exion brings several skin technologies onto one platform. Some applicators work without needles, using RF heat combined with targeted ultrasound. Others use fine microneedles or micro-pins to deliver RF energy into the skin for texture, scars and fine lines. The Exion applicators are cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for specific indications listed in the BTL safety information.
All Exion treatments share one goal: helping your skin rebuild itself. Controlled heat in the deeper layers of the skin signals the body to produce new collagen and elastin, and, according to BTL Aesthetics, the Exion Face applicator is designed to support the skin's own hyaluronic acid, the molecule that keeps skin hydrated and plump. The result builds gradually and looks like healthier, firmer skin, not like a procedure. Exion fits into our Naples wellness program alongside our other BTL technologies, so we can treat skin, muscle and function in one clinic.

Risks and Side Effects
What to Know
Common Side Effects
Exion treatments are non-surgical and well tolerated by most patients. Warmth, redness and mild swelling are common and short lived. After microneedling, the skin can feel dry or tight for a few days.
Rare Complications
BTL lists rare reactions such as crusting, blistering or burns. Changes in pigmentation are possible after fractional treatments, especially with sun exposure. You should feel warmth, never burning or pain.
Safety and FDA Status
The Exion applicators are cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for specific indications, listed in the BTL safety information. We screen every patient and choose settings for your skin type.

How Much Does Exion Cost in Naples?
The cost of Exion in Naples depends on the applicator, the size of the area, the number of sessions and whether you combine Exion with Emface or Emsculpt Neo. Frequently Asked Questions About Exion
Your Questions Answered
Does Exion hurt?
Exion Face and Exion Body feel like a warm massage. For Fractional RF and Clear RF we apply numbing cream first, and most patients describe the feeling as heat and light pressure.
How many Exion sessions will I need?
It depends on the applicator and your goals. Most plans include a short series of sessions spaced weeks apart. We confirm the number at your consultation.
Is there downtime after Exion?
None after Exion Face or Exion Body. After Fractional RF or Clear RF, plan for a few days of redness.
When will I see Exion results?
Some patients notice a glow soon after Exion Face. Firmness and texture improve over the following weeks and months as new collagen forms.
What is Exion RF microneedling?
It is the Exion Fractional RF applicator. Fine needles deliver radiofrequency energy below the skin surface in a single pass, which stimulates collagen for scars, pores and texture.
What is the difference between Exion and Morpheus8?
Both are RF microneedling treatments. Exion Fractional RF is part of a larger platform that also includes needle-free face and body applicators, so we can combine treatments in one plan. Your provider will explain which option suits your skin.
What is the difference between Exion and Emface?
Exion focuses on skin quality, texture and firmness. Emface focuses on facial muscle tone and lift, and it is also used for TMJ pain. Many patients combine the two.
Can Exion help with cellulite?
Yes. Exion Body is used to temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite and to firm loose skin on the thighs, buttocks and abdomen.
Is Exion safe for all skin types?
Exion Face and Exion Body are suitable for most skin types. For fractional treatments, your provider adjusts the settings to your skin type, and some higher settings are limited to lighter skin.
Can I combine Exion with Emsculpt Neo?
Yes. Emsculpt Neo reduces fat and builds muscle, while Exion Body improves the skin over the same area. Many patients plan both, for example on the abdomen after weight loss.
Is Exion only for women?
No. Men use Exion for acne scars, skin texture, firmness on the face and neck and loose skin on the abdomen.
